Welcome to Virestad homestead society!
Virestad homestead society was founded in 1925. The association’s primary purpose is to collect and care for antiquities and cultural values, and to enhance the sense of community and love of our home district. We have in our possession several collections of everyday items such as utensils and household items, and handicrafts from the resort. There is a rich book collection and unique photoarchives describing our history. In addition, we also own a number of buildings, which we like to open up to visitors at events or by appointment. The Pehr Hörberg stone of Övraön and the Kings stone in Sedingehult has been erected by the local homestead society. On this website you can read about our facilities, printed materials that we have for sale, news and upcoming events, and, as a member of the society, look at the pictures in our archive.
We take pride in helping genealogists and welcome you to contact us.
