Forna tiders brandkårer bestod naturligtvis av byborna själva. För att ytterligare öka förmågan att bekämpa bränder köpte byarna in utrustning som förvarades i ett litet och ofta centralt placerat hus, det så kallade spruthuset. Utrustningen bestod ofta av hinkar och små handsprutor. I några fall har man också köpt en större hästdragen spruta.

Det här spruthuset skänktes till hembygdsgården år 1948 av Sillre södra byalag. I gåvan ingick inventarierna.
Spruthuset stod efter den gamla landsvägen på grusåsen söder om Ljungan, mellan Anders Andersson och Sven Sellings fastigheter.
1949 uppdrog hembygdsföreningen till Algot Andersson att nedmontera, transportera och uppföra det på hembygdsgården.

Fire pump house from Sillre south
Ancient fire brigades, of course, consisted of the villagers themselves. To further increase the ability to fight fires, the villages bought equipment that was stored in a small and often centrally located house, the so-called spray house. The equipment often consisted of buckets and small hand sprayers. In some cases, a larger horse-drawn syringe has also been purchased.

This house was donated to the homestead in 1948 by Sillre södra byalag. The gift included the equipment.
The house stood along the old country road on the gravel ridge south of Ljungan, between Anders Andersson and Sven Selling's properties.
In 1949, the local community association commissioned Algot Andersson to dismantle, transport and build it on the local community farm.
